Android Testing Guide

Thanks for helping test Audiobook Librarian on Android. Testers get the latest features before public release and help us catch bugs before everyone else does. Test builds may be less stable than the public release.

Not on the tester list yet? Request access

Get set up in four steps

From approval to a working library in a few minutes.

1

Request approval

The beta is invite-only — you need to be added to the tester list before the beta link will work. Email eric@thelin.org or contact Eric by phone to ask for access, and include the Google account you'll be testing with.

2

Join the beta

Once you've been approved, open the beta link on your Android device, sign in with the same Google account, and tap "Become a tester." Then install the app from the Play Store link that appears.

3

Get a server account

Email eric@thelin.org to have an account set up on the server backend. Or skip the wait and try the demo server instead.

4

Sign in and explore

Add your server in the app, sign in, and start listening. Send feedback as you go — that's what makes the beta useful.

Just want to try it out?

Point the app at the demo server and sign in with the demo account — no email required.

Troubleshooting

Blank screen or can't sign in to the Play Store beta? Make sure you've been approved (Step 1) and that you accepted the tester invite with the same Google account you're using on the device. For app sign-in issues, double-check the server address and credentials from Step 3 above.
